Mindful Body Scan for Gratitude and Self-Esteem

This meditation will help you to develop a healthy mind-body connection, by combining gratitude and bodily awareness. Often, we are so critical of our bodies that we forget everything they do for us. This is how the body neutrality movement came along - to shift our focus away from chasing perfection, and instead towards appreciating what our bodies are capable of doing.

 

Before you begin the meditation, we would like to share a disclaimer about this exercise: we all have different bodies, and that’s okay. This meditation focuses on noticing your different body parts, such as your legs, your eyes, or your ears. It can therefore feel less suitable for those of us with physical disabilities. Of course, we still invite you to meditate with us and apply the meditation to your own body.
